Join us as we celebrate a Winston-Salem treasure that has reached global heights.

Thursday, April 20, 2017 @ 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. | Main Gallery

Art-o-mat began in 1997 as the brainchild of Winston-Salem artist Clark Whittington. He repurposed cigarette vending machines into dispensers of art, right in the city where tobacco was once king.

This 20-year retrospective exhibition will include an armada of Art-o-mat machines, inviting all to see how an Art-o-mat is put together and customized. It will present numerous miniature artworks that are dispensed from the machines, including an array of limited edition multiples. It will also present large-scale artworks by the artists who produce editions for Art-o-mat, made on site in our galleries.

Cash bar and lite bites will be provided.

This event is free and open to the public
