In collaboration with Los Angeles-based performance artist Sara Rara, students at Wiley Middle School explored language arts and mathematics through filmmaking.
Filmmaking is an effective way to help students understand narrative (Language Arts) and sequence (Math). Direct filmmaking (cameraless, direct animation) also helps students understand science through the direct manipulation of film through marking, scratching and distressing and seeing the result of "cause and effect" in the product.
