O-P-U-L-E-N-C-E: Opulence! You own everything. Everything is yours.

Thursday, June 24, 2021 @ 8:30 pm - 10:30 pm | Back Lawn

Please join us for the 2021 season of SCREEN ODDITIES – a monthly outdoor cult film series guaranteed to delight, frighten, and fascinate!

The film will start at 8:30 pm or sunset.

Paris is Burning (1990) – A chronicle of New York's drag scene in the 1980s, focusing on balls, voguing and the ambitions and dreams of those who gave the era its warmth and vitality.

About SCREEN ODDITIES – By nature, cult films are hard to define. Some are obscure and seldom see the light of day, while others have become permanent pop-culture icons and beloved mainstream favorites. This is what we'll be exploring in SCREEN ODDITIES, so come celebrate the bizarre and wonderful realm of cult films on SECCA's back lawn.

There will be a cash bar and snacks available for purchase. Guests are encouraged to bring their own blankets or chairs to setup on the lawn and are required to practice safe social distancing by staying at least 6 feet away from other filmgoers. Cloth face coverings must be worn indoors and when purchasing concessions but are not otherwise required on the grounds.

SCREEN ODDITIES is curated by Lawren Desai, Executive Director and Curator at a/perture cinema, and Alex Brown, Director of Programs and Audience Engagement at SECCA.
