Students use shadow play and tableaux to express their knowledge of history.

In this lesson, students will develop and perform a tableaux and short shadow play against a projected background from Ancient Egypt. Tableaux (a form of the drama strategy image work). A still image or tableaux can be used to portray the given subject matter. The students are given a scene to re-enact using only their physical positioning, relationship to other characters, body language and facial expression.

This lesson was inspired by our exhibition Emil Salto: Light Forms
