6:30 PM - Artist talk with 12 X 12 artist Hong-An Truong
Hong-An Truong uses photography and video to provide a sense of the collapse of past and present. Her installation Treatment for a Year of the Rabbit combines found video, family photographs enhanced with animation, and historic photographs to consider how a story is created, persists, vanishes and returns. The artist writes, "This project is a kind of distillation of these concepts of time, memory, and cinema in relation to personal and political history."
Hong-An Truong is an Associate Professor of Art and Director of Graduate Studies in Studio Art at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
