Friends of SECCA members provide vital sustainable operational funding that enables SECCA to produce high-quality exhibitions of contemporary art for the region on an on-going basis, as well as exciting events, workshops, concerts, and educational opportunities for art patrons of all ages. Additionally, Friends of SECCA is a community of art patrons with a shared love for museums, contemporary art, and this region, who together create the social culture and essence of SECCA.

As a museum with free admission, we hope that we are an accessible resource to students from primary school through college looking for visual inspiration in our galleries, historical perspective in our house and library, and stimulation from our events.

The Potter Circle, named after Ted Potter, SECCA's executive director from 1967-1991, is our top-tier patrons' group for individuals who want to support some of the best contemporary art and artists working today. Potter Circle members provide significant funding that enables us to commission artists, plan new projects, and deliver exciting opportunities to experience some of the best contemporary art anywhere in the Southeast.
