This lesson uses archival images of places and people to teach about the relationship between time and place.

Through this lesson students will compose historic scenes by incorporating paper figures on copies of archival landscapes. These archival collages will be photocopied so that students can enhance and manipulate the scene with paint and markers.

This lesson was inspired by our exhibition Devin Leonardi: Figure at Dusk

Our lesson plans contain all of the resources necessary to use in any classroom - including images of the artwork, in-depth instructions, NC Common Core Standards, and proven tips and prompts to help use the lessons in the classroom.
